When checking into treatment at The Providence Projects, you will first undergo a full induction with one of our counselling team. As part of that induction, you will also be assessed by a Doctor at The Providence Surgery who will assess both your general health and any detox requirements.
Once you have completed your induction, you will begin your programme and be assigned a focal therapist who is your personal 1-1 counsellor for the duration of your treatment. All of the counsellors at The Providence Projects are well qualified, highly experienced professionals; many of whom are in long term recovery themselves.
With you, they will formulate a treatment plan, agreeing the areas on which you will be concentrating whilst in treatment. They will be available to you throughout your time as well as being the liaison with any family members who need extra support.
The one-one counselling offers all clients a safe place to explore a variety of issues including:
- Childhood Issues
- Self esteem
- Shame & Guilt
- Grief & Loss
- Anger Management
- Stress Management
- Relapse Prevention
- Family Issues
- Body Image
Styles of counselling used will include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, 12 Step and Relapse Prevention.
Your 1-1 counsellor will ensure you have an individualised treatment journey. Many of our clients choose to continue these 1-1 sessions after their treatment is complete.
