Arriving at our Rehab Clinic from Basingstoke
Your stay with us will start with a warm welcome from our counselling team who will be responsible for your treatment programme and family liaison throughout your stay. They will go over any treatment recommendations and ensure that you are comfortable with the treatment programme.
Part of your induction will include a thorough medical assessment with our inhouse GP who will conduct a general health check, make a note of any co-occurring disorders (such as depression), current health concerns and any medications you are taking. Our GP will also assess if a medical detox is necessary and what, if any, detox medications should be administered to help make the withdrawal process safer and more comfortable.
All detoxes are medically assisted and observed by our in-house GP for those clients with severe drug or alcohol dependence. Our GP will decide if a medical detox is required, and the decision will be made based upon the interest of each client. The purpose of a medical detox is to reduce difficult withdrawal symptoms such as Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome. Throughout this period you will be fully supported medically, emotionally and physically as your body becomes used to not having the addictive drug to rely on. Withdrawal symptoms may last for 7-14 days.
