Lectures are an important part of our residential programme here at the Providence Projects. Getting sober isn’t easy, and there’s so much for our clients to learn about alcoholism and recovery. We want the client experience to be as educational as possible; to develop a strong understanding of recovery, sobriety, the challenges and rewards of getting sober, and what to expect along the way.
By providing structured, focussed psycho-educational groups to our clients as a key feature of the alcohol rehab, we equip them with the knowledge, tools and skills to stand the best possible change of a lasting, successful recovery after rehab. Our timetable incorporates regular lectures on a range of topics, which include:
- Relapse Prevention
- Family
- Impact on Significant Others
- Self-Esteem
- Mental Health
- Anger
- Shame & Guilt
- Boundaries
- Healthy Relationships
- Aspects of Self
- Abstinence
- 12-step recovery
These topics and many more will be covered throughout the duration of your stay at our private alcohol rehab clinic. They are a great way of gathering information about addiction and recovery, and understanding your triggers and high-risk situations, to help you remain clean and sober after you leave treatment.
Here at the Providence Projects, we believe in making lectures engaging, interactive and most of all fun! Lecture groups provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore ideas around recovery, learn, develop and practice the skills that are essential for overcoming drug, alcohol or gambling addictions.
